Ivirtivik at MAMU! Aboriginal Employment Fair
For the second year running, the Ivirtivik Centre had a booth at the MAMU! Montreal Aboriginal Employment Fair, held last March 21st, from 11 am to 5 pm, at UQAM’s Cœur-des-Sciences. Employees and participants from the Ivirtivik Centre in Verdun took part in the event and had the opportunity to network, attend workshops and hear inspiring stories of success. Visitors who stopped by Ivirtivik’s booth were able to find information about programs and services offered by the centre.
This fourth edition of the Aboriginal Employment Fair was made possible thanks to the hard work of the Education and Employability Circle of the Montreal Urban Aboriginal Community Strategy NETWORK, the First Nations Circle of the University of Québec in Montréal and the Urban Services Branch of the First Nations Human Resources Development Commission of Quebec. Specially dedicated to First Nations youth, young Metis and Inuit, the goal is to create a place where these young people can find the information they need about job opportunities, available services and programs, and the essential skills required to successfully join the workforce.
